Wow, this brings back some memories, I've not seen one of these for near 30 years. When i was younger my friend brought one of these and straight away i liked the look of it. Thing is when we went hunting and he reloaded it that click click click then slap of the lever sent all rabbits and quarry scarpering within 20 metres 😆I remember it also had some recoil as well. Wonderful to see one in again such beautiful condition 👍🏻

Terrible video, you do realise we can't see the pellet flying or where the hell you are shooting, you may as well do some footage of him firing it and some close range stuff

Don't these Webleys have adjustable barrel pivot screws? I have a Beeman C1 and Webley Bearcub both in .22. The barrel on the Bearcub is only 8in long but the stock looks very similar to the Vulcan.

Hello My friend, Thank you for your review of your BSA Mercury. I was a teenager in the early eighties and would have loved what you have there or a Weihrauch. I didn't have a hope. May I ask please, you said you had Diana air rifles when you were growing up, and these BSA's were out of your reach. Did you have the Diana Original Model 35? My dad left me two in .177 and .22 calibres, made in the mid 1970's. I don't think he'd had them long. They'd never have been in that condition if he'd had anything to do with it. They were dry, unlubed, unloved and had awful buzz/twang. Since then, I've renovated them both, trying to make them the absolute best I could with dad in mind. I gave them modern new piston and breech seals. I made them both a top hat which they didn't have and sleeved the pistons insides and spring guides. I'm so pleased with how they've turned out. The buzz/twang has gone. I'm no gunsmith, but I feel I've improved them so much, and I think they'll make great lightweight spring air rifles. In their day, were they seen as not very good air rifles? Underpowered and left behind? As they were German, there aren't many things Germany doesn't manufacture really well. I benefitted from videos from India, where I learned how to strip and re-assemble the air rifles and they were a great help. However, their air rifles didn't seem respected and seemed to generally abused which neither my dad or I would like to see. I hope I'm not being a nuisance. Any information you could tell me, I'd appreciate very much. Thank you, Ian.

1 st time (few years ago) i saw this vid, and i really liked your rifle, later i was able to get hold of a few BSA's from the Frakor collection, 2 with same checkering and 1 got BSA in the checkering, so happy i own them now beautifull guns/ engineering.

My late father had a pair of these guns. When I was a boy we used to get a gun each (I used my Webley Vulcan) and shoot at each other with chewed up balls of paper. I still have one of them (1921 vintage), just need to service it...

Yes it works I got the same pistol in 22 and yes it's load but in the video a big difference and I like C02 and I have a xs501 in 22 rifle and on the and very accurate up to 35m.

Gorgeous rifle for its time I used to have one extremely accurate wish I still had it. ..I had mine in the late eighties bought it for £70 with gun bag and allan key for foresight j never had any problem with rattling allthough I was aware that some of them had that problem but don't think it made much difference to accuracy...Still wish I had mine lol

Could the cameraman not film the gun going off, as if youd see a 177 pellet strike from that distance? Beautiful gun though. Didnt know you could have different power settings depending on length of 'cock' (no pun intended). Incidentally, if you have a near 6ftLb 177, and pt a .22 barrel on it, in the UK it WILL be over the legal limit of 6ftLb!

Absolutely love the design and swap barrel. But power wise not ideal sadly.

Wish I still had my dads….great gun, but a few trapped fingers along the way, first time I’ve seen mention of a smooth bore as his was . Good fun.
